You can set up to three times a day when the electric boosting kicks in if the water in the tank is below a set temperature you decide. The boosting is automatically turned off when the desired temperature is achieved.

This way you don’t have to remember to check if the sun has produced enough hot water every time you take a shower and you don’t have to boost manually not knowing if you are actually using power when is not needed (maybe sufficient hot water is already available) or, again, using too much or too little.
