Thermostatic Mixer - Mixing Valve
Thermostatic Mixer - Mixing Valve
This mixing valve is the must-have accessory to go with any solar water heating installation. In Europe is mandatory to have it installed by law, while in Kenya is still left to the professionalism of the installer to recommend it and install it for their clients.
We highly recommend it because it prevents people from scalding. The heating done by the solar cannot be kept below a certain temperature and the only way to prevent that extremely hot water reaches the tabs is to mix it upfront, when exiting the system, with cold water and bring it done to a more manageable temperature.
This is not only preventing scalding but it’s insuring there is no waste and the heating production of the solar heater is maximised. It makes no sense to distribute extremely hot water that cannot be used as it is and needs to be mixed manually with cold water by the users. Doing it upfront and setting a maximum temperature for the water that gets distributed does this more efficiently and more importantly, prevents potential leakages in your piping system that is manufactured for hot water normally supplied at a maximum of 60-65° Celcius. while the water exiting a solar water heater can easily reach near boiling temperatures.
This mixing valve is installed by our trained staff at the exit of the solar hot water supply at the time of installation and is set to bring to your tabs only what you need, no less but also no more.
